You: You are an infrastructure engineer with a real passion for designing and building robust, scalable, automated systems. Us: Apptio Foundations is a team whose mission it is to architect, develop, operate, and maintain the critical services required to run our platforms within our hybrid cloud. What we want you to do: You will be helping us lead the charge in providing a suite of service to the engineering organization that they can rely on, both in development and in production environments. Consistency and availability of our shared services are paramount, and you’ll be tasked with helping us grow and mature our offerings in both our datacenters and in the cloud.

In this role, you’ll be contributing to both short and long term projects as well as providing support when needed.

Basic Qualifications: 

• Experience with high-level programming languages such as Python, Ruby, and Golang
• Experience with Puppet, Ansible, and/or Chef and configuration management practices
• Familiarity working with REST APIs
• Experience in troubleshooting complex systems and finding optimization and simplification opportunities
• Familiarity with cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and how challenges faced there are different from those encountered in physical data centers.

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and code coverage tools
• Familiarity with log shipping tools like Syslog and aggregators/indexers like Splunk
• Experience with internal and external DNS architecture
• Worked with monitoring and alerting tools such as
  Prometheus
  Statsd
  Sensu
  Grafana
