About the Team

The Subsplash Product Team is responsible for all products that the company develops including the App Platform and Merchant Services. We are a team of designers, developers, and coordinators, creating polished experiences for our clients and end users. The Product Team is responsible for the entire user experience including: End-User Mobile Apps, the Subsplash Dashboard (our Content Management System), Subsplash Giving (Our Donation and Merchant Services Platform), the Web App, backend data feeds, analytics, and more. The Product Team supports our Clients by helping them maximize their revenue to fuel their mission and expand their reach.

About the Role

In your role, you will report to Ryan Clodfelter, Director of Engineering. You will own the Release Management lifecycle which includes scheduling, coordinating and the management of releases across the Subsplash platform. The releases can be inclusive of native application updates, hotfix patches, security improvements, internal application supports. You will build tools and services to help deploy releases into production and manage the documentation surrounding those tools. You will be responsible for implementing and managing release processes for the progression of code in the development, test, and production environments. You will assist in managing projects and interdependencies to ensure milestone adherence, and also responsible for providing meaningful data to be used in business and release planning decisions. This position works with the Product Team to improve the software engineering processes and practices associated with continuously building, deploying, and updating software and environments. You will also work with the Support Team to provide application supports and request-based updates.

  1. Gain a deep understanding of the existing tools and processes for performing timely releases of native codebases
  2. Identify issues and pain points within our processes and tools, so that we can iterate on our toolset to further automate manual processes
  3. Produce reliable, working code to scale our release operations to the next level

Your Priorities

  • Working closely with project management for all product release scheduling, and maintaining an updated Release Calendar
  • Develop scripts and automation tools used to build, integrate, and deploy software releases to various platforms
  • Maintain excellent standing with the app distribution channels at all times, responsible for responding to rejections and special requests from app stores
  • Maintain a release repository and manage key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists
  • Research new software development and configuration management methodologies
  • Gather and provide an interface to meaningful business data surrounding product adoption and deployment
  • Coordinate and communicate release details to various segments of the business (project management, support, etc…)

Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of user-centered design principles
  • Knowledge of both web and native mobile application systems and industry best practices
  • A Bachelor of Science in Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent professional experience
  • Fluent with git and github
  • Understanding of Agile, Waterfall, and feature-driven development processes
  • Knowledge of continuous integration environments such as Jenkins, Travis CI
  • Experience with one of the following programming language: Go, Elixir/Erlang, C++, Java,
  • Knowledge of mobile app development environments: Xcode, adb/ant/gradle, Android Studio, Visual Studio, etc
  • A understanding of iOS certificate/provisioning profile management
  • Eligible to work in US
