Smartsheet’s Enterprise Systems team manages the development, use, and support of the Enterprise Applications including the internal use of Smartsheet. Our team is looking to hire a Senior Business Systems Developer who is an active listener with great technical skills. The ideal candidate will know how to engage with internal business units to understand, streamline and automate repetitive tasks. “Anything that needs to be done more than once should be automated.”

Prior experience should include publishing and/or consuming web-based SOAP or REST APIs, automation and scripting experience (Javascript / Powershell / Python / Groovy etc.). Experience with Java / C# or another 3GL is a plus, as is familiarity with service oriented architectures (SOA) and data modeling skills.

This position reports to the Lead Business Systems Developer and the position is based at our headquarters in Bellevue, WA.

Responsibilities:

• Ability to design, maintain and monitor enterprise integrations and applications that scale and perform with rock solid reliability.
• Ability to identify points of failure, remediate existing applications, and build-in key monitoring hooks to allow for optimal management of solutions.
• Participate in the entire development life cycle, from concept to release.
• Participate in requirements gathering with Business Analysts and internal business units.
• Implement new features and improve the ones we have already built.
• Build and maintain integrations across a diverse array of enterprise systems: Salesforce, NetSuite, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and many others
• Participate in all phases of quality assurance and defect resolution

Requirements:

• 5+ years software development or automation experience (Java / C# / JavaScript / Python or similar)
• BS or MS in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent industry experience
• Experience building highly scalable, high availability applications
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with frequent production releases
• Legally eligible to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis

Nice to Have:

• Familiarity with SaaS apps (Google Docs, Office365, Salesforce, NetSuite, etc.)
• Experience providing automation solutions to supplant manual processing
• Experience with Dell Boomi, Mulesoft, Tray.io or any other cloud-based integration platform
• Experience with database design, modeling, and query optimization
• Experience developing, documenting, and supporting REST APIs
• Experience developing, documenting, and supporting Financial ERP systems such as NetSuite
• Experience with Cloud hosted stacks such as AWS, Google Cloud or Azure
