Why should you join?

  • With little supervision, this role will be integral in building and growing the Nortal consulting practice in the U.S. In your role as a as a Cloud Architect, you will work closely with customers to provide architectural and other guidance to help companies make the technology and cultural transformations for their businesses to be able to be successful in the cloud.
  • Get a deep understanding of Google Cloud technologies.

Your responsibilities:

  • Work closely with clients/customers and cloud partner while managing expectations.
  • Deep dive architectural guidance and more to help our customers make the technology and cultural transformations for their businesses to be able to be successful in the cloud.
  • Ability to document and recommend solutions
  • Ability to travel up to 50% (US only)

Qualificiations

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Systems Management (or equivalent work experience)
  • 5+ years cloud experience, with an emphasis on automation and infrastructure as code (such as terraform).
  • 5+ years software architecture and design; micro services and SOA.
  • A strong hands-on background in software development, microservices, and CI/CD systems.
  • Experience with operations and security are a bonus.
  • Understanding and strong hands-on experience automating infrastructure for at least one of AWS, Azure or GCP cloud platforms.
  • Experience mapping application dependencies, identifying network/application design bottlenecks, and related implications of network design.
  • Experience building solutions into a Kubernetes environment is preferred. Practical experience with the use of Helm, Istio and similar items in the Kubernetes ecosphere helps.
  • Has experience leading teams and multiple projects
  • Has the ability to scope out opportunities within a project.
  • Promotes guidance on architecture to clients.
  • Ability to construct appropriate solutions for small to very large problems with fast and slow, large and small Data.
  • Independently performs discoveries and assessments.
  • Able to identify solutions or state issues to client.
  • Has ability to influence client decisions and able to help sell in client meetings.
  • Understands how to build confidence and trust with client.
  • Communicates regularly with upstream dependencies and consumers of development project to ensure business success.
  • Clear written communication skills.
  • Comfortable presenting project status and concerns to the client/customer.
