Role Description

At Dropbox we’re busy helping to shape the Future of Work for our staff and customers. As a Client Platform Engineer, you will help to design and implement solutions to create a frictionless remote work experience and support a globally distributed workforce. You’ll be a part of the core team that keeps client infrastructure redundant, scalable, and secure. The position will entail getting your hands dirty by crafting the backend systems that Dropboxers will depend on as the company continues to grow. You should be comfortable seeing a project through from start to end; including being able to identify areas for improvement, researching the best way to solve the problem, being able to describe to others why you chose the approach you did, and then implementing the solution. You should be both a thinker and a doer. You dream big and then make things happen. You should love automating things, we want people who want to work smarter, not harder and can help to define the future of work!

Responsibilities

  • Create a secure, delightful  & frictionless User technology experience for Dropboxers
  • Ownership of large complex projects from design through to deployment and operationalization
  • Keep the corporate client fleet and 3rd party services running and scalable as we grow
  • Research and deploy new technologies that improve corporate operations and the productivity of Dropboxers
  • Help create and improve procedures for on-boarding users across our various systems and services
  • Provide support for issues escalated from our IT Helpdesk
  • Create design docs and support runbooks for deployed solutions

Requirements

  • Love for automating all things and streamlining business operations
  • 5+ years Systems Administration experience (e.g. Windows, Linux, macOS)
  • 5+ years automation/scripting experience (e.g. Powershell, bash, python, etc.)
  • Experience with software and configuration management tools (e.g. SCCM,  Chef, Azure)
  • Familiarity with common IT infrastructure technology and protocols (Cloud platforms, Virtualization, networking technologies, monitoring, audit and compliance systems, etc. (strongly preferred)
  • Attention to detail and a security minded approach to solving problems is a must
