The Director of Capture Systems Software will lead several global high-performance teams in all aspects of the software development life cycle: scoping, design, coding, testing, implementation and support. You will hire, train, mentor and lead teams of highly capable engineers. Your teams will work on EagleView's world class Aerial Image Capture Systems which consisting of custom designed cameras, optics, control systems, real-time image capture software, pilot management, power management, computer hardware, and aerospace quality positioning and mounting systems. Although this role will focus mostly on software development and technology, a deep understanding of hardware systems, camera technology and control systems used in aerial capture is critical. In this role, you must be able to multi-task, quickly adapt to new environments, learn new systems, and find creative and scalable solutions to difficult and complex problems. You must have the ability to take a system-wide and company-wide understanding, recognize trade-offs, best practices and make priority and staffing decisions across your teams. Your ability to communicate clearly and concisely (both written and verbal) is key, as is being a self-starter. This role reports to the SVP Capture Systems R&D.

Primary Responsibilities

• Build, train, mentor and lead cross-functional agile teams
• Help design, architect and develop advanced software solutions supporting multiple systems and initiatives
• Make system and company-wide decisions and tradeoffs to deliver the highest quality solutions
• Collaborate with the Hardware Systems teams to define, design and deploy new solutions
• Collaborate with technology experts, product owners and/or the business on requirements definition, development of functional specifications, and designs
• Collaborate on or lead development of technical design and specifications as required
• Establish and lead best practices in software engineering across your teams

• Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Image Science or related field
• 5+ years of software development experience using C#, C++, GoLang, Java or another object-oriented programming language, Linux and Windows development
• 10+ years as an engineering lead or manager
• Proven track record of delivering high quality results, while thriving in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated ability to align teams with business objectives and goals
• Experience with realtime systems, geospatial systems, imaging systems, interfacing with hardware and control systems, networking
• Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Solid understanding of business dynamics and ability to adapt to shifting priorities
• Solid understanding of Agile (SCRUM) Development Process required
• Familiarity with SAFe Agile methodologies; certification preferred
• Test-driven development mindset and a focus on quality, scalability and performance
