ExtraHop Engineering is looking for managers who can build software teams that drive efficiency and performance. The Tools and Performance engineers are experienced, motivated, and versatile. This team is tasked with driving product performance and building tools to enable rapid high quality releases. They need guidance to manage a realistic load and scope for physical, cloud and virtual products.
As a Performance and Tools manager you will help plan long and short term development efforts and build on the team’s knowledge and expertise. You will be part of a management team that sees scalability as an integral part of product quality and customer satisfaction. We want you to bring your planning, organization, and mentoring skills to keep our experienced technical team focused on engineering and sales goals. You and your team will communicate and publish the test designs, implementation, and results for all parts of the ExtraHop platform, from user interaction and data extraction to traffic processing and metric collection.
The ideal candidate will have
- 2+ years of experience managing and building software engineering teams and projects.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, computer engineering, or information technology.
- 3+ years professional development experience focused on Linux and cloud applications.
- Excellent organization and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in the software development life cycle, ideally with Agile methodologies.
- Experience developing tools and automation to drive system and user experience performance.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Understanding of TCP/IP networking.
- Experience with virtual and cloud infrastructure.
- Familiarity with containers or docker technologies.
- Familiarity with embedded systems or other systems-level development.
- Understanding of the OSI model and excellent working knowledge of the key protocols from Layer 2 through Layer 7 including ARP, IP, TCP, UDP, and HTTP.
