The role of Field CTO is a customer-facing role aligned to work with our most strategic or enterprise customers and prospects on their IT transformations and enterprise business architecture. Working alongside our sales and presales team, the Field CTO will effectively realise strategic sales opportunities with account teams by enabling customers to translate their business strategy into a technology vision and roadmap to deliver on their business outcomes.

This will require a solid Enterprise Architecture experience and an ability to advise customers on their IT transformation especially on the Storage front, customer experience and cloud adoption.

The Field CTO is a thought leading expert who articulates and communicates Pure’s technical vision and strategic direction, thereby assisting our customers to optimize their Data and Storage infrastructure.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Data and Storage Architecture & Strategy leadership - You will be aligned to a set of strategic accounts and required to own the architecture vision and strategy.
  • In collaboration with the sales account team, you will be required to support account and opportunity planning.
  • Become a trusted advisor to CIO/CTO & Key Decision Maker and their teams as they look to transform their business
  • Understand the customer’s business strategy and technology needs; identifying the key capabilities and technology enablers required to support these.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to our sales and presales resources on strategic opportunities.
  • Participate in the delivery of solution best practices, reference architectures, educational sessions and industry summits to existing customers, partners and to internal audiences.

What You Bring To The Team

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in enterprise architecture principles and tools
  • Multi-year experience in either hardware / software vendor or enterprise architecture disciplines
  • Proven experience in creating, selling or implementing technology-based solutions
  • Ability to communicate the business value of technology decisions
  • Ability to operate as an effective tactical as well as strategic thinker and team leader
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to effectively interface with senior management, board of directors and staff.
  • Must be willing and able to work in an open office, team environment.
