Ekata is hiring a Front End Developer to manage our website, optimize all templates and assets, and enable localized experiences for our global customers. This position will work with fellow marketing team members to bring creative and engaging experiences to market, leveraging WordPress and plugins, while maintaining responsiveness, speed, and global scalability.

In the Front End Developer - WordPress (Contract), you will:

  • Create well-developed web experiences for responsiveness, SEO, and performance
  • Collaborate with the design team to build websites that keep UX top of mind
  • Maintain and update WP instance, plugins, websites, publications, and manage security requirements/specifications
  • Work with stakeholders across the company to ensure tasks and projects are executed to satisfaction
  • Answer development-related questions
  • Build out webpage and blog templates
  • Train team members on how to use their shiny new templates
  • Website, micro-site, and geo-specific experience launches
  • Manage multiple concurrent activities while meeting strict deadlines.

Our ideal Front End Developer - WordPress (Contract) will have:

We are looking for a process-oriented thinker with strong project management skills. Demonstrated time and project management skills are critical for this role, with emphasis on the ability to manage complex projects with lots of moving parts and people. Our ideal candidate should have a natural inclination to test, measure, learn, and iterate to get the best engagement possible.

  • Must have 1-3 years in front end WordPress development
  • Expert proficiency with WordPress, plugins, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and more
  • Demonstrated experience in UX, UI, IA, and SEO
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to assist in translating design to development
  • Highly detail-oriented, well organized, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent at handling multiple projects with tight timelines
  • Self-directed and creative thinker; ready to proactively bring new ideas to the table, solve problems and take risks, to find new and innovative ways to improve results
  • A disdain for complacency; able to think and act outside the confines of the job description, desire to contribute value in other areas as part of a small team, and drive to always be evaluating new ideas and approaches for improving results
  • Growth mindset with a focus on operations; able to adapt to a fast-evolving environment and team while being able to produce solutions that focus on scalability and usability
