In order to advance our mission to – “Enable Personalized Care for Every Cancer Patient,” we are seeking candidates for the following role:

Front-end Engineer - Svelte, Progressive Web Apps, GraphQL

Be part of a dynamic, collaborative team developing greenfield software solutions to help cancer patients manage their treatment in collaboration with clinics and their caregivers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Progressive Web Applications using JavaScript, HTML, Sass, GraphQL and Bootstrap.
  • Write clean, readable JavaScript employing best practices like clear naming, Single Responsibility Principle, DRY, KISS, etc.
  • Ability to influence in product design direction & features 
  • Write unit tests with good coverage using Jest
  • Take and give code reviews and feedback to improve and contribute to learning
  • Collaborate with team members to evaluate, research, and/or prototype solutions.
  • Help groom stories with well-defined acceptance criteria, contribute to design, etc.
  • Evaluate our product experience holistically, from high level product requirements to the specifics of how individual features would fit together
  • Enforce standards, best practices, and modern development conventions.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of front-end software development experience
  • Expert in vanilla JavaScript with emphasis on ES6+
  • Expertise in HTML, Document Object Model, events, page lifecycle, etc.
  • Proficiency with CSS and CSS preprocessors like Sass, Less, etc.
  • Responsive Design techniques for mobile websites
  • Craftsmanship and passion for developing web apps, taking ownership of the end product
  • Unit testing discipline (Jest, Jasmine, etc.)
  • Dedication to generating clean, readable code
  • Experience working in a dynamic Agile-based (Scrum) software development team 
  • Good communicator and team player
  • BA/BS in a Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Knowledge of Webpack or Rollup
  • Chrome/Firefox developer tools (Chrome Dev Tools, etc.)

The ideal candidate will also have, but not required:

  • Experience developing against accessibility standards - WCAG, etc
  • Experience developing secure websites from XSS, etc.
  • Browser performance improvement engineering strategies.
  • GraphQL skills using queries & mutations
  • Flexbox layout module of CSS
  • Web components usage
  • DevOps experience: automation tools, CI/CD, secure & cloud-native API solutions.
  • Experience with a JavaScript framework (Angular, React, Vue, Svelte)
  • AWS experience
  • Node experience
  • Browserstack experience
  • Selenium functional tests
  • Application monitoring tools like Datadog, New Relic, Dynatrace, etc.
