First Mode is seeking to grow its skillset in the area of hydrogen gas transfer and management systems. As a member of technical staff with subject matter expertise in hydrogen systems, you will lead hydrogen systems design and implementation on projects.
Position Responsibilities

• Architect and design hydrogen gas transfer and management systems for stationary and mobile applications
• Lead the development, testing and establishment of a hydrogen fueling scheme for heavy duty applications
• Develop hydrogen system requirements and sub-system specifications
• Identify key areas of research and development necessary to meet system-level requirements

• Work with vendors, customer, and staff to develop large hydrogen fuel cell powerplants for heavy duty mobile applications and associated supporting infrastructure
• Provide Hydrogen Systems subject matter expertise through generation of practices and principles and mentorship of staff
• Participate in system and hardware design reviews
• Work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment
• Travel within the United States and internationally to represent First Mode to its customers, vendors, and partners

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in the design and implementation of hydrogen gas transfer and management systems
• Preferred proficiency in systems modeling tools, such as HYSYS, Matlab , Python, and Excel
• Ability to leverage how the system, environment, and operation will influence the design, manufacturability, and performance of equipment under consideration

• Ability to write and speak clearly about technical subject matter
• Flexibility and responsiveness in a fast-paced, dynamic, small team environment

Location

• This position will be located at First Mode's headquarters in Seattle, WA and will be required to work in office >60% of working hours
