The Company You’ll Join

At Carta we create owners and make private markets liquid.

We live in a world where some people live on the equity stack and enjoy exponential wealth growth and preferential tax treatment; others live on the debt stack and may work their entire lives for a company and retire only with the cash they’ve managed to save from their paychecks. Our contribution to solving the wealth inequality problem is moving people from the debt stack (payroll) to the equity stack. By making it as easy to issue equity to employees as it is to put them on payroll, we can create more owners.

At Carta, we are helpful, transparent, fair, and kind. We are relentless executors, unconventional thinkers, and masters of our craft.

The Team You’ll Work With

As an iOS Engineer at Carta you’ll be responsible for working on the Carta iOS App that’s utilized by stakeholders across Carta’s core product areas. We work on cross-functional product teams helping to solve problems for our Shareholders of Private & Public Companies, and our Investor Services customers. Each of these product areas are crucial nodes in the Carta network.

Day to day you’ll work with other engineers (mobile, frontend, backend), product managers, designers, and business leaders. You’ll have the opportunity to have a great deal of ownership over the product area you’re focused on. We believe in strong collaborative environments between Product, Design & Engineering to deliver first class experiences to our mobile users.

The Problems You’ll Solve

As an iOS Engineer on the team, you’ll play a critical role in making sure our iOS product meets the needs of our various stakeholders while making sure our platform is prepared for future products. You’ll have the opportunity to work with our Employee Experience, Public, and Investor services teams.

Some of the problems you’ll contribute to solving:

  • Equity ownership, education
  • Equity with Public Markets
  • Building out a mobile experience for our investor services customers

The Impact You’ll Have

Whichever team you work closely with you’ll have a direct impact on a growing technology area at Carta with the mobile app. We’re building out new experiences on mobile that are in demand with our existing customers and iterating to provide more value for the product areas that exist today. We serve a significant portion of our 1M+ Carta customers who use the app to stay engaged and interact with their assets. Our mission is to create more owners and as a mobile engineer you’ll directly contribute to that mission.

About You

You are a passionate iOS Engineer who has a good understanding of the user experience and empathy for the user.  With 2-5 years experience, you’re fluent in Swift, take pride in your ability to write clear, concise and maintainable code, and familiar with unit testing best practices . We need a strong communicator who is comfortable working with stakeholders across the org to understand business and product requirements. You understand that being an effective engineering partner means collaborating with product managers, designers, mobile, front-end, and backend developers.

We are an equal opportunity employer and are committed to providing a positive interview experience for every candidate. If accommodations due to a disability or medical condition are needed, connect with us via email at [email protected]. As a company, we value fairness, helpfulness, transparency, leadership and build our teams around these values.
