About the Role

As a Lead Front-End Software Development Engineer you will lead a team of front-end engineers, work with other talented engineers and designers, and leverage the best technologies to empower both end users and internal customers.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead and mentor a small team of front-end engineers
• Help facilitate and improve streamlined team functioning
• Interfaces as an SME with other teams such as Product Management, Client Success, Curriculum, and Marketing
• Owns parts of feature sets from inception through implementation, and past release into customer use
• Work with Product Management to break down larger bodies of work into epics, stories, and sub-tasks and to size the work appropriately to get from vision to release
• Advocates for technology work (such as technical debt) with product managers so that the right mix of core infrastructure and external features get built
• Designs and architects solutions and actively participates in architecture discussions with other developers
• Writes code with focus on, but not limited to, the front-end and middle-tier parts of software products
• Participates in code reviews for peers

About You

• 5+ years software development experience with CS degree or 8+ years equivalent experience
• Experience leading and mentoring engineers
• Familiar with Agile and CICD development process
• Extensive hand-on experience with UI Frameworks – such as Angular, SASS
• Working experience and strong knowledge of SOA with a focus on how front-end pieces fit into an entire SaaS architecture
• Familiar with software development lifecycle
• Familiar with distributed systems
• Experience with AWS products
