As a Linux DevOps Engineer at Amplero, your vision and passion for managing and operating distributed systems at global scale will drive ongoing development and scale-out operations of our cutting-edge, machine learning system that takes a new approach to traditional marketing, alongside an extraordinary team of software engineers and machine learning authorities. You will be responsible for deploying and supporting the virtual and physical infrastructure for our marketing analytics and decisioning platform that performs large scale batch processing and real-time decisioning for our Fortune 500 customers, running in data centers, customer sites and on multiple cloud platforms around the world. There is an opportunity for occasional international travel as we continue to grow and support our client base. This position requires excellent communication, problem solving, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.

One who is able to think creatively to deliver solutions on short notice with minimal requirements if the need arises.

As a Linux DevOps Engineer you will:

• Drive the configuration and automation of a broad assortment of server software, primarily in Linux such as Apache Tomcat and PostgreSQL.
• Operate highly available, business impacting production environments including multiple clouds, physical and virtualized hardware in data centers and on customer premises.
• Bring to bear multiple scripting languages, to operate Amplero's physical and virtual infrastructure.
• Work closely with software development teams to support both production and testing environments.
• Install and maintain physical hardware systems in data center environments.
• Have the opportunity for occasional travel (short, international trips).

Experience we are looking for:

• 5+ years experience working with Linux/Unix environments, including security implementation.
• 2+ years system administrator/engineer experience with strong scripting skills.
• Hands on experience operating Hadoop clusters including: HDFS, Impala, Yarn, including system management tools from Cloudera.
• Strong database and big data management fundamentals with specific focus on Postgresql, PIG on Hadoop and other data warehouse skills.
• Proficiency with cloud and virtualization technologies (AWS, Azure, VMware ESX, vSphere, and VMware API a plus).
• Expertise with automation tools (terraform, packer, puppet, or chef).
• Experience with containerization and container management technology, including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with storage technologies such as Fiber Channel and iSCSI.
• Strong communications skills and a proven ability to work directly with external customer project teams, including technical peers at customers and partners.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent advanced level work experience in a DevOps role.
