This role will inspire, lead and guide the US based software engineers in the development and delivery of MigrationWiz the industry leading and only 100% SaaS based cloud migration solution on the market migrating millions of users to the cloud every year. The engineering manager will work collaboratively across the organization to continually enhance the product, ensure the highest quality standards, and continually exceed customer expectations.

In this job, you will: 

  • Leadership
    • Hire great engineering talent that fits our values of excellence, customers, results and learning
    • Define areas of ownership/KPIs and set clear expectations for all members of your team, and empower people to own and drive
    • Grow, develop and retain the best engineers by providing constant feedback, coaching and growth opportunities both technically and personally
    • Develop engineers to predict problems, think strategically and use data to inform decisions
    • Develop engineers to innovate through learning and collaboration
    • Develop deep trust at all levels of the organization
    • Create a culture of celebrating success
    • Foster customer empathy throughout by demanding quality at all levels, exceeding timelines and understanding the pain our customers are experiencing
  • Engineering
    • Own the US based engineering team of about 8-10 engineers and testers for the MigrationWiz product
    • Increase engineering velocity by working to continuously improving our process, tools and how we measure and provide visibility on progress
    • Deliver value to market rapidly working with Product Management by properly allocating resources, managing scope and mitigating disruptions and risk
    • Own product quality all the way from initial quality delivery to full scale and performance by driving quality early on in the engineering process
    • Drive continual improvements in our platform and infrastructure to keep our product architecture modern and flexible and allow us to execute rapidly
    • Drive and deliver on a technical roadmap by leading architecture and design reviews, improving technology governance, and innovating on our technology stack
  • Grow the Business
    • Work across all levels of the business and across the organization to understand and solve our customers problems
    • Collaborate with our product management team to deliver on the product roadmap and provide feedback where appropriate
    • Collaborate with our customer success team to understand quality issues and challenges in the product to continuously improve the product and exceed the customers expectations
    • Regularly communicate status, progress and risk analysis of current projects across the company
    • Work with our SRE team to support the spread of the DevOps culture across the engineering team
    • Work to identify areas of the product to improve on and reduce operating cost

We would love to speak with you if you have: 

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • 7+ years managing a team of software engineers
  • 5+ years of experience as an IC in software development
  • Demonstrated experience in people leadership and building high performing teams
  • Proven ability to coach and mentor individual contributors
  • Ability to understand and apply business goals to the development and delivery of software
  • A strong desire for constant learning and improvement
  • Demonstrated experience in managing engineering team utilizing SCRUM
  • Quality first and continuous integration to ship quality are part of your nature
  • Experience with a modern high-level language (C#, C++, Java etc.)
  • Experience designing cloud-native applications (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Experience designing and delivering highly scalable SaaS application
  • Experience with CI/CD systems (Jenkins, TeamCity etc.)
