Manager, Software Engineering

We’re looking for a Engineering Manager to join the Core Growth ML Infrastructure team to help drive the growth of the Snapchat community. As an experienced engineering leader, you will lead a group of software developers responsible for the systems and infrastructures that powers friending experience on Snapchat. The team builds products that drive user growth through strengthening Snapchat social graphs by understanding how friending impacts user growth, optimizing friend suggestions on Snapchat and improving data platform and retrieval system.
What You’ll Do:
Set the strategy, build a roadmap, create aligned OKRs and lead your team to deliver
Collaborate with Product, Data Science and Engineering teams distributed across multiple locations
Influence key decisions on architecture and implementation of scalable, reliable, and cost-effective engineering solutions
Build and grow a team of exceptional software engineers and technical leaders
Iterate quickly without compromising quality and raise the bar on operational excellence
Minimum Qualifications:
5+ years of experience working in software engineering
2+ years of experience leading or managing teams of high performing software engineers
Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of a company
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with high attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience partnering with cross-functional executives and management across a globally distributed organization and exercising sound judgment
Track record of delivery in rapidly changing, highly collaborative, multi-stakeholder environments
Deep knowledge of and experience working with a diverse group of engineers
Someone who loves to learn, and is passionate about helping others
Experience with graph search, retrieval infrastructure and ranking
Experience with data science and Internet-scale infrastructure
