Pivotal is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop manufacturing fixtures, create and document product assembly documentation and enhance manufacturing processes for our 5G Echo Repeater products. This position will be responsible for taking documentation from engineering on product specifications and coordinating with contract manufacturers to deliver high quality, easily to understand instructions to ensure that products are built to specific specifications from quality control. This position reports to the Director of Technical Operations.

 

Responsibilities:

 

•Assist in the creation of documentation with help from ME and EE groups to develop assembly instructions, specifications and process methods to ensure high quality

•Facilitate and execute ECO (engineering change orders) internally and to external contract manufacturers on a timely basis.

•Manufacturing test process documentation and technical writing of critical process steps, workflow instructions, and BOM (Bill of Materials) changes to products.

•Prepare and manage manufacturing process steps, Bills of Materials, PCB fabrication files, assembly drawings, work instructions, and other manufacturing related documentation

•Research and implement process improvements to facilitate and improve the manufacturability and testability of all products.

•PCBA process development optimizing quality, turnaround and committed deliverables

•Bench top testing and troubleshooting with typical lab equipment

 

Required Qualifications:

 

•Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field or applicable related experience in years

•10+ years of relevant experience as Manufacturing Engineer or related title in an electronics-based hardware company or contract manufacturer

•Experience in design for manufacturing with PCB based electronic products preferring experience with commercial RF active antennas and radios

•Environmental testing a plus, chip and wire experience a plus, DO 160 experience a plus

•Familiarity with industry standards such as IPC and IEEE relating to PWB design

•Thorough knowledge of PWB fabrication, materials choices and processing

•Excellent communication and organizational skills

•Excellent investigative and problem-solving skills for addressing design issues and manufacturing challenges
