Boeing's Cabin and Network System - Cabin Experience Network (CEN) Team is looking for Mid-entry Level Software Engineers in Test capable of contributing to the software development lifecycle of requirements, integration, and verification. The individual will participate in development CEN's camera surveillance airborne software project focusing on software testing aspect. Develops and maintains test strategy, plans, procedures, scripts and documenting test results to ensure software functional requirements are met. Operate in an agile software project management manner with respect to software verification. Documents deployed processes and tools and collect artifacts to support software certification activities per DO-178C Software Considerations in Airborne Systems and Equipment Certification. Works under some supervision.
Position Responsibilities:

  • Performs software project management functions with respect to testing aspect.
  • Develops, documents and maintains test strategy, plans, procedures, scripts and test results for software systems.
  • Develops software verification plan, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met.
  • Performs software integration test and troubleshoot software problems.
  • Develops, selects, tailors and deploys software testing processes, tools and metrics.
  • Tracks and evaluates software test team to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards.


This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science.
  • 2+ years' experience leading software testing development projects
  • 2+ years of experience with project management or leadership role.
  • 5+ years' experience in software development life cycles, configuration management and best agile software engineering practices
  • Ability to integrate hardware and software components into a functional system.
  • Knowledge of testing, usability practices.
  • Ability to write and execute test scripts and perform usability analyses


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience using common software version control tools such as Git.
  • Experience with Agile planning tool such as JIRA, TSF
  • Experience with Yocto, NodeJS, NGINX, Docker, Selenium
  • Demonstrates creative, critical thinking and troubleshooting skills
  • 2+ years of experience requirement based testing (RBT) in according with RTCA DO-178(B/C) Software Considerations in Airborne Systems and Equipment Certification.
  • 2+ years of working in a Linux/Unix or Ubuntu environment


Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
