The security team designs and builds Lyft's security architecture, consults with other teams as they build and launch new products and features, proactively plans for the unexpected, and responds to incidents that occur. Our work affects the entire company and takes place at all levels of the stack, from infrastructure to web application security, as well as mobile apps, IT, bikes, scooters, and autonomous vehicles. About the role:

The mission: Empower the company to make informed, prioritized and automated security decisions. Democratize adversarial thinking along with “assume breach” mindset across Lyft to improve our ability to predict, sustain, investigate and recover from threats.

We’re looking for the right passionate person to join our team to help stimulate and scale new and existing proactive security measures across our services, applications, and processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Evangelize the assume breach mindset and work across Lyft to drive change across anticipate/protect/detect/response
  • Plan and execute red team operations against our service and processes to assess and prioritize the efficacy of our managerial, operational, and technical security controls
  • Automate TTP and integrate capabilities into existing test platforms

Experience & Skills:

  • 3+ years conducting red team/pentesting exercises and familiarity with offensive TTP along with lateral movements
  • Offensive security experience attacking Linux/Unix systems.
  • Ability to communicate complex issues, concepts, or ideas in a confident and blameless manner through verbal, written, and/or visual means
  • Programming experience automating common pen testing and infiltration tasks
  • Computer networking concepts and protocols, and network security methodologies
  • Familiarity with common pentesting toolkits (Metasploit, CANVAS, Cobalt, Empire …)
  • Common risk management framework and risk scoring methodologies
