Job Description

As a Principal Software Engineer at Xpansiv, you will help guide the evolution of our core systems and capabilities while supporting new green field opportunities. You will help establish technical standards and drive Xpansiv's system architecture, engineering practices and engineering methodologies. You work on our hardest problems, building high quality, scalable, and architecturally sound systems that are aligned with our business needs. Principal Engineers are pragmatic visionaries who can translate business needs into workable technology solutions.

At Xpansiv, Principal Engineers are leaders and mentors. They help define our culture and values by setting an example for their teams and peers while socializing the direction of the engineering team and building a wide team consensus towards the adoption of changes or ideals. You will lead conversations internally about the direction of major areas of the technology and inspire others through your shared vision. As a Principal, you will set the technical direction of our ESG-inclusive products and platform; you will produce both detailed and technical work on high-level architectural designs as well as identify technology strategic growth opportunities that enable Xpansiv to grow as a business.

• You are able to communicate multi-year technical strategy while leading the team in identifying further strategic areas for development 
• You have a highly developed technical perspective and architecture and system design ability 
• Must have experience cultivating flexible, empathetic engineering teams

Requirements:

• BS degree or higher in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience 
• 10+ years of relevant engineering experience 
• 6+ years of technical leadership experience 
• Proven track record of designing and delivering large-scale, high quality systems and software products 
• Product development experience, working across all stakeholders

• Proficiency in communicating technical requirements and goals while fostering creativity, empathy for others and the willingness to be a strong mentor
• You will love a good debate, honest conversations and collaborating to make the company stronger
• Desire to grow professionally with ongoing education and professional growth, always learning with a deep curiosity in regards to what’s next and what can be done
• Positive attitude and a great sense of humor
