QA Engineer
We believe that phone calls should be secure, engaging, void of fraud and robocalls. We believe the phone app is the most outdated app on your smartphone, that the phone network is the largest social network in the world and it lacks a trust and engagement layer. You should know who's calling you and why! You should get the calls that are relevant to you (at that time) and none of the ones that aren't. Hiya is building the modern layer for the phone call experience. We already serve over 100M users worldwide directly through our apps and in partnership with mobile device makers like Samsung and mobile carriers like AT&T. Are you ready to help us get the next 900M users?
We are hiring a Quality Assurance Engineer to assist with building innovative and high-quality applications for our partners. In this position, you will work with multiple applications and solutions, including our AT&T Call Protect app on Android and iOS, our Samsung integration app, and other OEM projects from around the world. It will be your job to work closely with other QA engineers, software engineers, and PMs to troubleshoot issues, build and verify applications, provide metrics and reports on our Partner’s integration builds, and prioritize defect fixes and work items.
As a quality assurance engineer in the Partner Solutions team, you'll:
- Collaborate with software engineers, PMs, and other QA engineers in order to deliver solutions keeping a high level of standards and stability to our partners.
- Perform a variety of tests, such as regression, integration, platform, and performance testing to confirm the stability of software systems.
- Debug and analyze issues and provide clarifications and reports to coordinate issue resolution.
- Provide feedback and feature analysis and guidance from user or customer perspective to the team.
- Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases for both internal use and also for our customers.
- Estimate, prioritize, and coordinate testing activities across multiple projects.
- Assist with monitoring releases for high impact defects and issues over the lifecycle of the product.
You do not have to check all of the boxes, but we think these are important requirements in this role:
- You have previous mobile testing experience and feel comfortable working with both the Android and the iOS platform.
- You are both analytical and creative at solving complex technology and user experience problems.
- You have experience writing software automation
- You believe you'll excel in a startup environment (high ambiguity, high urgency, fast-paced).
- You put the user first and feel comfortable providing feedback to the team to help drive our mission of providing great applications.
- You are comfortable writing and communicating in English (speaking a second language is a plus).
- You are self driven and willing to learn new tools and methodologies.
- You have a Computer Science (or equivalent) or several years of hands-on industry experience.
You'll be an important member of our team to help us serve 1B consumers and you'll have the exposure and experience to accelerate your career growth while making phone calls better for everyone.
Hiya is committed to diversity and inclusion and we desire to build a team with a variety of perspectives, identities, and professional experiences. It's our intention to evaluate each candidate exclusively in the merits of their skills, competencies, and contribution to the organization.
This position is based in Seattle on our beautiful waterfront office, right next to Pike Place Market (it doesn't get more iconic than this).
