Blue Nile is seeking a temporary Quality Assurance Engineer I to join our Quality Assurance & Release team. This entry level position offers the opportunity for a college graduate with a technical background to grow their test and process skills in a highly visible team, working with the latest web technologies. The Quality Assurance group is small and provides a supportive team atmosphere. We work directly with business users, customers, and technology team members to test and release website updates and improvements which ensure our customers have the best experience possible.
In this role you will have an opportunity to work on all parts of an e-commerce website, including the website and shopping cart, and also systems supporting fraud prevention, payment processing, merchandising, marketing, inventory management and shipping. With the company’s international expansion in Asia and Europe you will also get a chance to work with the international and localization teams as we ensure that the customer has the same high quality experience regardless of where they are located in the world.
This role is expected to last approximately 6 months.
Responsibilities:
- Perform manual and automated testing of Blue Nile systems
- Analyze requirements and user stories to build test cases
- Plan, design, and implement tests
- Respond quickly and professionally to support and customer issues
- Generate test scripts for function, system, and regression level testing
- Utilize industry standard tools to document test cases/scripts and report defects
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills - skilled at communicating with technical and non-technical groups
- Applicable education or technical experience
- Demonstrated attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Must be able to work effectively and cooperatively across all technology teams
- Excellent planning and time management skills
- Familiarity with web technologies, object oriented programming and relational databases
- Competent understanding of software development and the role of Quality Assurance
