What You'll Do

As a React Native mobile app developer, you’ll create a platform that enables people to create, share, and play interactive media rich location based experiences via their mobile device. You’ll work closely with a product manager and product designer to define a ubiquitous language, advise on technical capabilities, prototype features, and convert mockups and wireframes into a functional React Native mobile app destined for the iOS and Android App Stores. You’ll collaborate with back end developers to define data contracts and APIs for interacting with the existing Geocaching ecosystem. 

 

Qualifications & Required Skills

  • Mobile application development within the React Native ecosystem (Redux, Redux Saga, Redux Persist, Webpack, Flow, Jest) 
  • Sufficient native Android and iOS proficiency to link 3rd party React Native libraries and dependencies
  • Strong JavaScript knowledge. Familiar with ES6 and modern language features
  • Write clean, readable code and unit tests.
  • A proponent of domain driven design and the ubiquitous language 
  • Consuming and defining traditional RESTful APIs
  • Proficiency using Git in an Agile development team setting
  • 3+ years relevant experience, such as strong react for web or strong native app development experience
  • Understanding of UX best practices and front end UI design methodologies, and a commitment to putting the user first.
  • Expert at hunting down and squashing bugs.

 

Bonus Skills

  • Experience developing native applications with Objective C, Swift, or Java
  • Experience with serverless architecture such as Google Firebase and Firebase Firestore 
  • Visual Studio App Center continuous integration and distribution including codepush
  • Experience working with localization/internationalization
  • Experience developing complex responsive web UIs using modern JavaScript frameworks
  • A strong interest or previous experience building an app from the ground up.
