About the Team

The Engineering Team is responsible for building and running all the products that Subsplash offers. We are a super-star team of software engineering QA, and reliability professionals creating polished experiences for our clients and end-users. The Engineering Team is responsible for the entire user experience including: Mobile Apps (end-user facing), Subsplash Giving, the Subsplash Dashboard CMS (client-facing), Web App, TV App, backend data feeds, analytics, SnapPages (website builder) and more. We serve thousands of clients, millions of end-users, and billions of individual app impressions.

About the Role

As a Release Engineer II, you will report to the Release and QA Manager. In this role you will not only execute standard release duties in the form of native mobile app submissions (new apps, app updates, and app upgrades), but also to work closely with both the Release Engineering team and other teams to identify and implement tool and process improvements to increase the timeline and quality of app submissions.

  • Improve existing tools and processes to increase timely releases of native codebases 
  • Maintain an app submission velocity that supports our published service level agreements
  • Provide release support to other teams within Subsplash, such as Sales and Support

Your Priorities

  • Prioritizing app submissions above all other work, release new apps, app updates, and app upgrades on all platforms, including iOS, Android, tvOS, Amazon, and Roku
  • Implement improvements to Release tools and processes to increase submission velocity
  • Identify improvements to release tools and processes to increase app submission velocity
  • Coordinate with the Release Support Specialist, Support Team, and Clients Operations as necessary to work through app submission blockers and rejections

Qualifications

  • Intermediate level knowledge of native mobile apps, such as iOS and Android, and the various challenges with each (i.e. fragmentation and provisioning)
  • Hands-on experience with one or more coding or scripting languages; Go or Elixir preferred 
  • Intermediate level knowledge of web systems, including various browsers and the difference between native and mobile
  • Working knowledge of the software development life cycle and the difference between agile and waterfall methodologies
