While Pivotal has completely redefined the physics and economics of providing broadband wireless access for consumer, business and military applications, we still need to tailor our technology for a multitude of compelling use cases. Looking ahead, our team will also be developing artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions to complement and enhance our fundamental technology. The RF Field Application Engineer will provide forward, hands-on support to demonstrate product capabilities, solve our customer’s most pressing product concerns and technical operations issues from the sales cycle through implementation. This role is rooted within customer operations and is critical to developing long-term customer relationships by serving as a technical subject-matter expert in the support of Holographic Beamforming antenna product solutions. This role will be responsible for direct and recurring interaction with customers and play a pivotal role in communicating customers technical challenges to Product Managers, Engineering and internal business stakeholders. This position will be responsible for developing customer demonstration solutions, sales support, product implementation, interoperability testing, and ongoing product issue resolution. This position reports initially to the CEO and later to the Director of Sales Engineering.

Responsibilities:

•Produce white papers, use cases and application note literature for internal products

•Help with understanding customer needs and developing demonstrations

•Assist customers throughout the entire sales cycle

•Assist with implementation, testing and ongoing issue resolution 

•Interpret, communicate and manage customer requirements to internal staff

•Contribute to project effectiveness by identifying short- and- long-term product issues, provide information and commentary pertinent to technical deliberations, recommend options and courses of action, and implementation directives

•Assist internal personnel with procedures related to implementation and optimization of Holographic Beamforming antenna products and systems

•Providing customer project technical assistance, product education, and training to customer

•Assisting in the design of demonstrative product solutions to meet customer requirements, including RF antenna solutions, physical interfaces and custom installations that meet customer requirements

•Supporting technical solutions to meet prospect's business, technical, and/or financial goals

•Maintaining expert knowledge of Holographic Beamforming antenna products and solutions

•Leading troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex systems

Required Qualifications:

•Multiple years of experience as an RF Engineer, Solutions Architect, Hardware Engineer, Field Application Engineer, Field Service Representative or related title

•Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering

•Experience and desire in a direct heavy customer interfacing role

•Multiple years of experience with RF based products and systems 

•Thorough working knowledge of design principals from 6 to 86 GHz preferred

•Hands-on experience with measurement techniques and use of vector spectrum analyzers, vector signal generators, network analyzers, power meters and other industry standard RF test equipment

•Working experience with power amplifiers, mixers, LNAs, filters, couplers, switches, VVAs, IQ modulator and demodulator, ADC, DAC, Baseband amplifiers/filters and synthesizers

•Proven experience troubleshooting communications systems and architectures, conducting group training, and managing equipment inventory and readiness

•Must be willing and able to travel at least 50% of the time

•Ability to write Python scripts and GUI’s for customer demo prototype solutions as well as connecting to the hardware interface (c++)

•This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Desirable Expertise: 

•Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering

•Experience with power supply design, circuit design, board layout, hardware prototyping, hardware debugging and other hardware design concepts

•3gpp experience
