Essential functions and responsibilities:
Dev9 is looking for an experienced and motivated technologist who possesses a unique balance of technical depth combined with excellent interpersonal skills. This role is an important addition and will lend credibility to our growing cloud consulting practice. You will have the unique opportunity to work directly with clients to solve complex problems while coordinating with our Partner Sales Channel/Team.
The ideal candidate will bring their background in infrastructure, software, and cloud experience with a love for working directly with customers in a trusted advisor/solutions role.
This position reports to the VP of Delivery and will be required to travel up to up to 80% travel.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Contribute to Statements of Work for technical requirements, high-level milestones, and objectives
- Work with key business stakeholders, business development, and Dev9 technical leadership to define the scope for projects
- Conduct, lead or manage Proof of Concepts (POC) on or within the GCP ecosystem
- Drive technical workshops engaging with client’s business and technical staff
- Contribute to Dev9’s intellectual property
- Lead sales calls shaping solutions and qualifying opportunities
- Provide assistance in pricing opportunities for SOWs and POCs
- Communicate/Status within Dev9 and Partner (Google)
- Draft assessment results in a clear and concise format using narrative and graphic methods
Qualifications:
- BS in Computer Science (or related)
- 7+ years of industry software development or delivery experience
- Experienced and opinionated on agile methodologies, CI/CD deployment, TDD, Infrastructure-as-Code, configuration management tools and containers vs VMs.
- Delivered projects of the following types: new/greenfield, refactoring/upgrading, and complete solution rebuilds
- Familiar with an industry standard sales lifecycle
- 2+ years of Sales experience (Solution sales is preferred)
- Experience architecting and developing software or infrastructure for scalable, distributed systems
- Working knowledge of cloud offerings and solutions (Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS). Google Cloud Platform preferred but not required
- Strong understanding of networking concepts and common web-based communication protocols
- Familiarity with DNS, DHCP, and other network services
- Background with VM and/or Containers (Docker preferred)
- Linux server administration and network architecture a big bonus
- Private/Hybrid/Public cloud configurations, migrations, patterns, and practices
- Hands experience with networks, SQL, NoSQL services
- Ideal candidates will have proven experience and a solid understanding of technology consulting, delivery management, project-based work, and managed services.
- Previous customer service experience dealing directly with external customers, and presentations to executive audiences
- Ability to manage expectations across accounts and customers while representing the broader Dev9 value proposition and ensuring engagement success for all parties.
