Expedia Group Security (EGS) protects Expedia Group the company and all of its brands from financial loss and brand damage by strategically securing across all channels its most valuable assets - customers, employees, partners, ​​brand reputation, transaction, integrity, and infrastructure, - through the use of world class ​technical capabilities that appropriately balance the management of risk with the impact to Expedia Group's business operations. ​

 

The Expedia Group Security team is tasked with keeping Expedia Group Safe and Secure on all digital and physical fronts.  The core concepts of Prevention, Containment, Detection and Remediation are applied to combat various forms of networl, data and physical security threats.  A strong base of Prevention avoids issues and Containment provides a basic defense while facilitating business efficiencies. Swift and precise Detection is the key to limiting impact and through Remediation we will close gaps at a speed appropriate for the level of risk and needs of the business.

Position Overview:Our team is actively seeking a Senior Director, Security Operations. This position will be a key leader in security and will drive operational security thought leadership throughout Expedia Group.  This leader will bring a hunger for staying up-to-date on the latest frameworks and operating models for enterprise security operations, security monitoring, vulnerability management, or threat analysis.  The Senior Director will embrace encouraging other leaders to build and run teams that achieve great results.  Finally, the executive is be looking to make an impact and lead a global team at the forefront of protecting Expedia Group’s data and our travelers.

Responsibilities:

•Own and fiercely advocate an attitude of continuous improvement, performance, and learning, so we can ensure the safety and protection of Expedia Group•Ensure our tenets of Trusted and Business Integrity remain core to our decision making.•Lead our teams that ensure information assets, technologies, and services are adequately protected•Own the investigation of security breaches, proactive monitoring and response to threats, vulnerabilities, and non-compliance•Establish meaningful measures to monitor and ensure your teams are performing and improving our services and functions provided•Owns our operational measures and presents to Sr. Leaders companywide as needed•Recruit, retain, and grow strong leaders who have a bias to action, take ownership of problems, and seek out solutions

Competencies:

Functional Expertise  

•7+ years of experience with a deep background in leading multiple security teams in a 24/7 environment, including direct multi-level people management of geographically dispersed teams•Advanced understanding and thought leader in one or more of the following areas: Platform Security, Data Security, Network Security, Perimeter Security, Security Assessment Tools, Security Monitoring Tools, and Managed Security Services•Demonstrated IT/Operations work experience with an emphasis towards Security Operations in a large scale 24/7 environment•Skillfully articulate complex information and security concepts to company leader’s including business or technical while accurately portraying real risks and threats to the company•Undergraduate and/or advanced degree in Computer Science preferred
