Senior Front End Engineer (Remotely working with our distributed team)

About The Role:

As a Frontend Engineer on the Collections team, you will use your skills to build a crucial part of the agent-consumer workflow. Using Collections, an agent and consumer can keep their communications organized in one place, alongside the listings they're considering. We build the pipeline that moves a customer past their initial search all the way through to the listing they consider "the one". Our team integrates with the highest number of other products, such as Tours, Search, Marketing Center and more. You will be working on one of most highly utilized and visible products in our company.

You are a developer who is passionate about setting a high bar for quality when it comes to user interaction. You can place yourself in the shoes of the end-user and advocate for their best interest. You feel it is critical that your work have an impact on the product and the business. You love to learn, and equally love to share your knowledge with others. You are a great communicator and you take care to understand before making yourself understood. You enjoy trying new frameworks and libraries. 

At Compass You Will:

• Build, develop and scale the front end of our Collections product that powers the collaboration experience between buyers, sellers and real estate agents.
• Write JavaScript code that is architected for scalability and re-use. Have strong opinions on code structure and modularization. Write semantic HTML and be a master of your CSS pre-processor.
• Collaborate with product and design to move fast on creating solutions to business problems.
• Inspire, recruit and mentor your engineering colleagues
• Operate in a scalable engineering culture that leverages modern principles of decoupled systems and automated CI/CD/testing/monitoring to drive efficiencies

Who You Are:

• BS in CS or EE or equivalent
• Proven track record working in top talent and high performance environments
• 5+ years experience with NPM & JavaScript including modern frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.
• Experience with Redux, ES6, Webpack is a plus
• Can contribute best-practices and architectural leadership to our front end applications
• In-depth experiencing leading and owning projects from beginning to end
• In-depth experience with agile methodologies and automated testing with some exposure to TDD & pair programming
• Experience collaborating closely with UX and Product Managers
• Familiarity with containerization, microservices architecture, continuous integration and delivery is a plus.
