We are looking for a detail-oriented and creative Senior Information Security Engineer to join our Flyhomes Infrastructure team! 

The Senior Information Security Engineer is responsible for strategy and implementation of all aspects of cyber security at Flyhomes, including compliance adherence, system hardening, detection, incident response, and owning processes to identify risks. 

The Senior Information Security Engineer provides expertise and influence across a broad range of Information Security disciplines across all Departments. This role evaluates new technologies and shares security knowledge and best practices and is the primary driver of the Information Security Program, reporting to the Director of Infrastructure.

Our headquarters are in Seattle, WA.  This role could be worked remotely from any state where we are operating.  The current list is:  Washington, Oregon, California, Massachusetts, Illinois, Texas, Arizona, North Carolina, Utah, Colorado and Florida, with more to come!

What You’ll Do

  • Drive program across all Departments (Finance, Mortgage, People, and Engineering) to create a collaborative and meaningful security posture.  
  • Serve as subject matter expert and point of escalation to ensure security programs and technologies are actively managed and fully leveraged
  • Develop and implement strategy as well as roadmap for compliance to SOC2 Type II, SOX, and other IT controls as it relates to Security.  
  • Perform security reviews to identify security issues and risks.  Develop and drive mitigation plans across Engineering.  
  • Triage, respond to and drive improvement from security incidents
  • Manage all security activities for Flyhomes.  This includes penetration testing, Audit cadence and process, compliance activities, forensic research and threat modeling.
  • Advise and consult with internal customers on risk assessment, threat modeling, and vulnerability remediation across Corporate and Production environments
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement security solutions and practices that protect company services and information assets; help the company manage risks and meet compliance obligations
  • Share knowledge and experience with peer team members within Infrastructure in a mentoring capacity

What is needed

  • 3-5 years of experience driving company programs as it relates to security and compliance.
  • CISSP, CISM, and/or CCSP Certification preferred
  • 5 or more years of experience with security technologies including: firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, VPNs, encryption, AWS IAM, network, and application vulnerability assessment.  
  • 2-4 years of experience as a Systems Engineer/Admin for web technologies, database systems, networking principles, access control methods, and security concepts
  • Ability to automate tasks and interact with APIs using common scripting languages such as Ruby or Python
  • Experience driving impact across an organization and ownership of training, processes, and security frameworks such as PCI/SOC2 Type 2/SOX IT Controls
  • Familiar with industry security tools (i.e., Darktrace, AWS Guard Duty, IDS Systems & Firewalls)
  • Ability to work well under pressure within a closely coordinated team during emergencies
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage workload with competing and shifting priorities
