About the Role:

We’re seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a team helping millions of people explore  the right treatment and connect with the right provider. Our Software Developers are the backbone of the organization, providing real-time value to users by consistently and rapidly shipping high-quality tests and features to our site and app. This person would collaborate daily with a team of engineers and product owners.

Our engineering managers are technically adept at mentoring and guiding across multiple teams or cross-functional products. Your roadmap influences organizational goals and you participate in RealSelf’s planning process, with real impact.

In this role you will:

• Ask the right questions, evaluate tradeoffs and lead teams to technical solutions that solve real consumer problems.
• Develop an engineering culture that enables quality and craftsmanship.
• Work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn new things.
• Staff and manage a high-performance team
• Own your team’s technology end-to-end, monitoring, tracking, and addressing critical issues.
• Develop, Coach, and Mentor team members to support the development of healthy, collaborative, results focused teams.

About You: 

• Guide quality engineering best practices across engineering teams
• Have experience working in service oriented architectures, or complex multi-server, multi-service systems.
• Have experience with agile development methodologies and leading a team through Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
• Comfortably communicate complex issues to diverse audiences inside & outside your org.
• Understand cost trade-offs between technology and business and delivered the best possible technology solutions
• Have experience with Docker, AWS technologies, MySQL or ElasticSearch, or other similar platforms.
• Experience shaping strategy and executing against that strategy with prioritization of people and resources.
• High emotional integrity to embrace and grow a diverse team
