Position Overview

We are looking for a Senior Partner Engineer to evaluate, design, implement and improve technology integrations within the MemSQL partner ecosystem. This includes leveraging your technical skills to identify the best possible integration methods for new and existing partner technologies in a performant and frictionless manner. Your business acumen will help maintain vital relationships with technical integration engineers at our partners who you will work with daily. 

As the technical subject matter expert for our partners, you will work as an independent manager of various technology integrations key to the success of MemSQL and our customers. We are looking for someone who understands the limitations and constraints of various systems architectures and who takes pride in delivering complete solutions that add tremendous value to our customers. A Senior Partner Engineer must be self-motivated and comfortable with learning wide-range of unknown technologies while developing expertise in a short amount of time.

Role and Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the MemSQL product, ecosystem and underlying implementation.
• Work directly with technology partners to integrate with MemSQL. This includes joint design, testing and implementation phases.
• Maintain and improve existing partner technology integrations based on feedback from sales engineering and support.
• Investigate and identify important technology integrations for MemSQL.
• End-to-end ownership of fast-moving workarounds and proof-of-concepts for the field engineering organization.
• Document best practices and implementation guides for new and existing integrations, using demos and joint enablement sessions to train support, sales engineers and engineers.
• Collaborate with teams such as Pre-sales, Engineering, Documentation, Product Management and Sales as a solution advisor for the technical partner ecosystem.
• Independently manage cross-functional work streams within MemSQL when internal development is required for integration implementation or enhancement.

Required Skills and Experience

• 8+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise integration solutions with a track record of meeting business requirements
• 4+ years of relational database experience 
• Strong experience with cloud infrastructure platforms AWS, Red Hat OpenShift, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, as well as on-premise distributed computing architecture. 
• Strong CS fundamentals, with experience working on enterprise software with Linux.
• Programming experience with languages such Java, C++, Python, etc.
• Professional experience following software engineering and testing methodologies.
• Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills with experience troubleshooting complex software problems.
• Professional experience working with technologies such as Kubernetes, Spark, Kafka, Flink, Confluent, etc
• Experience with JIRA, github, and Zendesk a plus.
• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent in a related field
