We are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Postgres DBA to join our team. Prifender product processes a large volume of data and a well tuned Postgres install is a must. The candidate will be responsible for deploying, maintaining and supporting large scale deployments in customer environments, as well as collaborating with the development and delivery teams to achieve maximum performance. We're looking for a key individual who can utilize their knowledge and share both new technologies and innovative processes to the existing team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Installs, maintains, and manages large Postgres installations
• Develops best practices for deploying and tuning Postgres to suit Prifender workload
• Works together with the development team to tune queries issued to Postgres
• Perform database admin activities such as cluster installation, backup, replication, recovery, upgrade as required
• Designs and automate data migration whenever required
• Writes scripts to support specific requirements/automation
• Performs daily monitoring/healthcheck of production database clusters
• Designs and develop solutions for security
• Develops self-service tools that enable the delivery teams to troubleshoot and maintain performance
• Provides capacity planning of system resources to support database growth

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Expert knowledge in Postgres administration and performance tuning
• Expert in designing, implementing and maintaining large data environments
• Experience with administering Mongo and RabbitMQ is a plus
• Experience with Linux shell scripting
• Good team player with strong analytical, communication, documentation skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent training and experience
