About the role: The Retail Systems team is responsible for creating systems that allow our product vendors and third party suppliers to list and manage their products on Coupang. As the backbone of Coupang, our mission is to create highly scalable systems that empower our vendors and third party suppliers to make quick decisions and scale operations. What you’ll do:

You’ll be faced with unique challenges to scale and develop solutions including software platforms and applications that drive the business decision by providing the intelligent and system automation. You will work with exceptional team members to build the high availability systems and contribute to a fast growth E-commerce business.

Some specific things you’ll work on:Highly Scalable and Reliable Services Oriented Architecture
Design, develop and support world-class systems eving individuals and business of all sizes
Drive and work on algorithm and architecture design, execute and deliver results
Big Data Analytics supporting data collection, modeling, and optimization
Work directly with machine learning scientists to scale up models on retail purchases, vendors, and other Coupang data to deeply understand our customers
Strategic domains such as selection onboarding and recommendation, personalization, and supply chain management.
Consumer driven web and native mobile interfaces and APIs.

What we’re looking for:Bachelors or above degree in Computer Science or related fields
3+ years of experience with Java, SQL, JavaScript, and ideally some Python
Good programming practices including solid object-oriented principles and design patterns
Experience in web technologies, such as react and redux.
Platform knowledge including MySQL, Hadoop, Spring, NodeJS, Git
Ability to deep dive into software requirements and to focus on delivering results
Maintain a sense of ownersip and urgency across all responsible projects

Bonus points for: Experience in Cloud services such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Microsoft Azure
Major bonus points for experience at e-commerce or SaaS companies
Ability to think outside- the -box and challenge conventional wisdoms
Experience with handling large data volums in a Java server environment – ideally with both backend processing and web tier data management
Exposure in dynamic startup or startup like environments preferred
