Pivotal is seeking a Senior SDET to support the development of embedded applications to write Linux code to run on a SOM for testing internals and interfaces for kernel, user space and application level code. This position works heavily with the Lead SDET and reports to the Director of Product Development.

Responsibilities:

•Develop end-to-end software and automation environment for testing embedded applications that consist of multiple layers of device interaction, from bare board hardware all the way up to interfacing with mobile user interfaces and cloud-based applications

•Interact with other functional groups (Software Engineering, Hardware Design, R&D) to establish test criteria, and to work towards incorporating design-for-test functionality in our products

Required Qualifications:

•5+ years of experience as a SDET, Software Engineer in Test, Software Developer in Test, Software Engineer, Test Engineer, Computer Scientist or related title

•Knowledge of test methods, appropriate levels of test, and test techniques

•Experience with Linux both from a host perspective as well as embedded Linux 

•Familiar with standard embedded communication protocols (SPI, UART, I2C, etc) as well as physical interfaces such as Ethernet, USB, Bluetooth, WIFI

•Experienced at TCP/IP networking and debugging tools (wireshark, etc)

•Familiar with TCP/IP application protocols (DHCP, NTP, etc)

•Fluent in Python or other modern scripting language

•Ability to analyze technical specifications, and come up with solutions to complex technical problems, in a fast-paced environment where there are competing priorities 

•BS, MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering with

Desirable Expertise:

•Knowledge of DevOps, Continuous integration

•Familiar with Agile environment, Git, BitBucket, Jira, Confluence

•Ability to write tests/tools in C/C++, as well as ability to read and instrument embedded software and firmware

•Experience with all phases of product development lifecycle

•Experience with antennas, RF, or cellular base stations

•Knowledgeable with 3GPP LTE standards is a plus

•Familiar with Yocto, GNU toolchain
