We’re a nimble team that works with enthusiasm to innovate and deliver Post-Purchase products and services that delight our customers. We are the team behind MyGroupons application which shows items a user has purchased and Trade-In feature which allows customers to exchange unused Groupons for new ones. We work on a portfolio of projects that have a direct impact on Groupon’s business.

We are seeking a developer who enjoys delivering high-quality products on time in a responsive environment and working with colleagues in a high performing team. The role provides an end-to-end perspective of the company’s business model and backend. The systems you build will create new deals based on pre-approved recommendations of price, images, merchandising and e-mail marketing.  

In this role, you will focus on the data to understand customer behavior to help them enjoy great experiences. 

• Architect, design and develop robust and useful systems. You will think about the design and implementation of user features.
• Collaborate with teams across the company to leverage existing infrastructure and address gaps in automation
• Build tools for Inventory Managers to automate the inputs of recommendations for pre-approved deal structures
• Build platforms to transition new products from proof-of-concepts into international businesses
• Technologies include data mining, machine learning, collaborative editing, crowdsourcing and workflows.

Requirements:

• 5+ Years of experience in designing/implementing large, scalable distributed systems
• Proficient in Java 8. Experience with Maven & DropWizard is a plus.
• Experience building RESTful services
• Experience using PostgreSQL
• NodeJS with ES6 a plus but not required
• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience & commitment to continual learning
