Cloud services are a rapidly growing part of Unity’s platform. You will work with a highly skilled and motivated team, designing and scaling the next generation of Unity’s connected gaming and multiplayer functionality. This combines game engine and client tools with networking and server infrastructure to enhance connectivity for all of Unity’s game developers.

Responsibilities

• Highly scalable client, server, and persistence infrastructure required for multiplayer games.
• Generalized systems that democratize development of complex multiplayer features, including matchmaking, chat, dashboards, and more.
• Multi-threaded and high-performance systems

 Requirements

• 3+ years experience as a full-stack developer
• A solid foundation in data structures and algorithms required
• Languages: C#, Javascript, and/or Ruby on Rails
• Comfortable working in Linux and its command line tools
• Great communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively on shared projects with other developers, testers, and product managers
• A passion for developer tools and services

 Bonus Points

• Building scalable web services and web applications
• Game development or related industry experience
• Designing and developing RESTful APIs
• Authentication and authorization models for the web
• Understanding of UDP, TCP, Websockets, and/or HTTP protocols
• Multiplayer and game service design, including Matchmaking, Chat, Leaderboards, Clans, Lobby, etc.
• Familiarity with relational and nonrelational databases
• Good understanding of deployment tools such as Chef, Salt or Ansible
