Position Overview:

We're looking for an experienced engineer with a demonstrated ability to build the mission-critical libraries, automation, and tooling that multiply their coworkers' efforts building large-scale distributed systems with complex requirements. You can identify pain points for other developers, distill complexity to arrive at a workable solution, and build elegant solutions that get things right the first time.



Responsibilities Include 


Work on a team of developers that build services fundamental to the Swiftly platform, including identity, loyalty, coupons, shopping list, and search

Architect, code and maintain larch scale distributed systems with complex requirements 

Utilize expertise with microservices architecture 

Operate production services, including on-call and incident management 

Contribute to a mult-tenant Content Management System platform 

Working collaboratively in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment 

Taking ownership of your domain from the ground up, from architectural decisions to coding to testing to operations 

Other related duties as assigned. 

 

Required Qualifications 


B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or a related field or comparable industry experience

5+ years of industry experience designing, building, and maintaining large-scale software services 

Confidence writing code in Java, Kotlin, C# or other statically typed modern languages 

Expertise with modern development patterns and technologies including Kubernetes, Redis, and microservices 

Experience building and running services on AWS and/or Azure 



Preferred Qualifications 

Mix of startup and large software company experience

Work Environment 


The work is performed in a remote office environment. 


 While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to use hands to type, handle paperwork and sort, file or manipulate documents. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee is required to utilize audio visual programs for frequent meetings and discussions with fellow employees, vendors, outside agencies and/or customers. The employee may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds occasionally.
