The Challenge

A key part of the XM Platform is the ability to “Listen & Remember” the stakeholders. XM Directory helps our customers to know every stakeholder so you can deliver hyper-personalized experiences. When someone says something about your company you can capture it and store it in the XM Directory. Over time, you’ll build up detailed profiles of your customers, employees, and any other stakeholder to know exactly what they like, need, and how every interaction with your company made them feel.

As a Senior Software Engineer on the XM Directory team, you would apply your expertise with frontend development, distributed systems, microservice architecture, and web services to drive the architecture and design of complex systems. You would have the opportunity to build the tools that our customers use to identify and solve their customers’ problems. You will build solutions that are simple on the surface but have the flexibility to solve experience challenges in every industry around the globe. We at Qualtrics have the freedom to choose the appropriate technology for each project, allowing engineers to experiment and learn new technologies.

You should love creating elegant customer interfaces and building simple solutions to solve hard customer problems. We craft systems in an agile environment to withstand hypergrowth. You will focus on critical deliverables in the next year that will enable users to identify and solve difficult customer experience issues on the Qualtrics XM Platform.

A Day in the Life

  • Develop scalable, fast, robust, and rich web-based interfaces to solve complex business problems using the latest front-end technologies
  • Implement new features and optimize existing ones to drive maximum performance
  • Work closely with, and incorporate feedback from product managers, design, and other XMD teams
  • Have worked on frontend development and have familiarity with backend services
  • Attend daily stand-up meetings, collaborate with your peers, prioritize features, and work with a sense of urgency to deliver value to your customers
  • Drive clarity in business and technical requirements and evolve them into technical designs
  • Architect efficient and reusable front-end systems that drive complex web applications
  • Contribute to the professional development of colleagues, improving their front-end technical knowledge as well as the engineering best practices on your team
  • Have technical impact (including Quality) that spans an Engineering organization’s technology portfolio across multiple teams or depth of impact that significantly advances mission-critical systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience
  • Strong level of curiosity and interest to learn
  • Strong algorithms, data structures and coding background
  • Disciplined approach to testing and quality assurance
  • Experience with web infrastructure and distributed systems
