Do you want to play a significant role in the design of a mission critical set of features for Windows + Devices at Microsoft?

 

The Member Growth and Services team joined the Windows + Devices group and is looking for a passioned cloud services software engineer to drive some of the key cloud services investments at Microsoft. The Team is focused on the delivery of innovative scenarios that light up Microsoft experiences across Web and Windows. As part of our product development, you will be owning code that powers one the key Microsoft’s customer facing web portal <<https://account.microsoft.com>> which is visited by 2.5M customers globally a day. The Team at the time is looking ahead to design and build new world class services for upcoming Windows releases – this is a great opportunity to be part of the design and building, from ground up, brand new services. The Team operates in combined engineering and embraces continuous development and services excellence and have well optimized Agile processes to support continuous shipping.

Responsibilities

 

We are looking for a passioned cloud services engineer who has data driven mindset and demonstrates customer empathy while designing robust engineering solutions. You will be joining very functional, collaborative, and motivated team, and will have the opportunity to work on scalable cloud services deployed on Azure. You will partner closely with our business and program management team delivering innovative solutions. Our team operates in combined engineering and embraces continuous development and services excellence. You will have a passion for quality and be a creative thinker.

 

As part of the team, you will have responsibilities to maintain and improve our services in production by proactively monitor, react to customer issues, perform investigations, implement mitigations and deployments to guarantee that we operate a healthy system. You will also be responsible for evaluating system topology and capacity to ensure that services are able to handle user demand.

 

The breadth of our work provides opportunities to work with a variety of software languages and technologies, including C#, Azure, and other services infrastructures. Our ideal candidate is someone who has proven to be a team player and is looking to expand their scope of influence and impact. This candidate is an engineer who has a passion for writing high quality code in a mission critical environment as well as guiding the direction of the team.

Qualifications

 

  • BA/BS degree in CS, related discipline, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with managed-code development including C# and/or Java
  • RESTful web services technologies (for example JSON, WebAPI, ASP.Net and OData) 
  • 7 or more years of cloud services design and development experience
  • Experience in building cloud services from scratch and scaling to millions of users
  • Experience in Design Patterns on how to build scalable, performant and high through put services
