With over $1B in revenue but under 60 employees, this presents a unique opportunity for the candidate to join at a senior level a new, growing, and profitable commodity trader.

This position will be a key engineering position within the firm, partnering with traders, logistics operators, data scientists and analytics teams to design, develop and implement firm’s proprietary Commodity Trade Risk Management (CTRM) system – a unique platform combining trade input and reporting, logistics, trade processing and financial analytics.  The candidate will also develop technology solution and tools to provide enhanced reporting, transaction and interactive portals to internal stakeholders and external clients.

The role will be a technology lead, defining the infrastructure our platform is built on and guiding the firm.  This is a senior position within the firm, and as such requires extensive software development experience with a diverse skill set in development, application design, system architecture and cloud computing.  

Primary Responsibilities:

• This position will lead the design, development, implementation and ongoing enhancement of a proprietary Commodity Trading and Risk Management System, the key platform that supports the firm’s business, as well as associated web and mobile based reporting and execution solutions, and interaction with third party software services.
• This is a leadership role that will shape the company's software and data architecture for future growth
• Work with traders, logistics teams, data scientists and analytics teams to design develop technology solutions to support the firm’s growth.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related engineering discipline
• A minimum of 7 years of software development experience.
• Understanding of system design, cloud infrastructure and continuous integration.
• Experience building and maintaining API's.
• Experience and understanding of one or more different agile methodologies, including Scrum, XP, or SAFe.
• Excellent written and oral communication in English and ability to succinctly explain complex technical issues.
