Senior Systems Engineer
Pivotal Commware develops 5G communications platforms, systems and applications based on Holographic Beam Forming® , a patented breakthrough in electromagnetic physics. HBF allows Pivotal to create software-defined antennas that can harness, shape and direct radio waves with order-of magnitude advantages over legacy beamforming systems in cost, size, weight and power consumption (C-SWaP). We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer who will develop full system models leveraging our technology in a wide variety of applications. The Senior Systems Engineer works with Product Development teams to translate market and customer requirements into detailed hardware and software specifications. In addition, this individual will analyze and validate communications architectures, driving decisions from communication protocol selection to algorithm design. The ideal candidate will need a broad understanding of various subsystems in modern communications to drive end-to-end analysis. This position reports to the VP of Engineering.
As a Senior Systems Engineer at Pivotal Commware, you will:
•Translate product and marketing requirements into detailed system and subsystem requirements and specifications
•Drive end-to-end system architecture for wireless communication products
•Define interfaces with internal and external engineering teams including mechanical, electrical, firmware/software
•Identify and mitigate areas of technical risk using FMEA process
•Perform architecture trade studies for wireless communication systems
•5+ years of experience as Systems Engineer or related title with Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or similar
•Experience developing and driving trade studies; requirements definition, flow down, and validation; interface control documents
•Knowledge of communications system principles and design
•The individual must be adaptable and have excellent communication skills to coordinate throughout all phases of development
•Experience using DOORS, Jama, or similar requirements management tools
•Advanced knowledge of 3GPP LTE/NR protocols and system requirements
•Experience defining UML models and message sequence charts
