Unity has built the industry’s leading gaming and 3D simulation engine. We are working on products and services centered around running massively scaled simulations in the cloud that will open a new frontier on generation of high-volume training data for Machine Learning in multiple industries.

The Simulations Content team in Unity develops realistic worlds for simulation and training. This requires systems for generating urban, suburban, and rural elements of simulated environments.  

If you’re an exceptional Content Generation Pipeline Developer or Technical Artist who is passionate in procedural systems advancing the fields of autonomous vehicles and robots, a passion for collaboration, and an interest in building a product from the ground-up, then we want to talk with you!

Responsibilities

• Work closely with engineering teams and content partners to implement procedural content and library objects
• Develop techniques to simulate realistic procedural worlds in Unity
• Help develop a production pipeline for making procedural content
• Create custom shaders for weather, weathering, age, and other domain randomizations
• Implement rigs and animations for people, animals, and mechanical objects
• Develop technical standards for assets

Requirements

• Experience with game engines like Unity or Unreal Engine
• Strong experience with 3D modeling in Maya, 3ds Max, or, Blender
• Experience in Physically Based Rendering material development tools such as Substance Designer and Substance Painter 
• Experience building procedural setups in Houdini, with a focus on geometry processing, interface design, and low level tool building
• Experience designing and implementing rigs for pedestrians/vehicles/cyclists and other real-world agents
• Experience working across teams and external partners to deliver content

Bonus points

• Masters level education in computer science, animation, game design or related.
• Strong knowledge of relevant programming languages (primarily C#, VEX, some Python)
• Ability to balance visual quality with required performance
• Deep knowledge of computer graphics and mathematical concepts (geometry, trigonometry, etc)
