The Role:

The Mobile App Experience team builds a scalable and robust platform that empowers and accelerates application development across Remitly. We multiply the efficiency of our other product teams by providing a dependable and intuitive developer experience. We also own multiple product features and stay connected to how customers use them through A/B tests and a constant stream of user feedback. Mobile App Experience is the foundation for mobile feature development and evolution at Remitly.

As an engineer on the team, you’ll contribute to services and app architectures that help evolve our product. You'll step down to native Android and iOS to help bring great experiences. You enjoy learning and working with different technologies crossing multiple layers of the software stack and application platforms. You'll also work with other developers, project managers, and designers to build new customer experiences on top of the mobile platform. Most of all, you should care about improving our customers’ experiences.

What you’ll Do: 

  • You'll participate in the ideation, technical design, and grooming of new features with a data-driven and customer-centric viewpoint.
  • You'll expand our primary product with new experiences that engage and help retain our customers.
  • You'll own and invest in Remitly’s core mobile platform architecture, acting as a central point of contact for other developers working on product features.
  • You'll expand our multi-platform React Native + TypeScript codebase with new shared components and patterns, raising the bar for frontend best practices.
  • You'll cultivate a faster, easier, and more dependable mobile development experience for other teams at Remitly.
  • You'll work with other developers, product managers, designers, and analysts to build great product experiences.
  • You’ll advocate for users and developers alike in a dynamic role.

Who you Are: 

  • A BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of experience as a software developer.
  • Experience building and shipping client applications, notably Android, iOS, or React.
  • one or more general purpose programming languages like TypeScript, Kotlin, Swift, JavaScript, Java, or Objective-C.
  • Work with other engineers and work with designers and product managers.
