The Commerce team at Twitch is looking for a passionate, results-oriented, inventive software development manager to drive one of our new product initiatives. The candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, inspires teams, delivers results, looks around corners, and effortlessly collaborates with partner teams.

As a software development manager, you will lead a talented team of engineers to create innovative ways to maintain a high velocity delivery of features from our product roadmap. Responsibilities include direct management of 8+ engineers, process and quality of service improvements, strategic planning, project management for software within the team, and management of resources across teams. Successful candidates will be strong leaders who can prioritize well, grow engineers and teams, communicate clearly, and have a consistent track record of delivery.

You will work closely with the individual contributors on your team, as well as data science, product management, product marketing, devops, and business leadership to deliver well-engineered products that delight customers and meet the test of cutting-edge engineering craftsmanship. In addition, you will bring experience to refine development processes and motivate top talent to do their best work.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow a talented engineering team
• Work with leadership to identify and hire the best talent
• Collaborate on road maps for product launch and growth
• Work across technical and product teams to help define and prioritize requirements
• Align with, and advocate into the team, product direction as established by the Product Manager
• Recommend and manage high quality product development processes
• Help establish estimates, work required, and tracking of work
• Help facilitate and/or make key technical decisions
• Constructively work to challenging schedule objectives with high morale
• Advise Product Management on technical options that might impact product direction
• Collaborate with UX, data science, and others to assure smooth work integration
• Reach out to peer groups, resolve tech issues, and help gain buy-in with high credibility

Basic Qualifications

• Proven engineering leadership track record

• Experience using Agile development methodologies
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English
