We are ExtraHop. We're on a mission to provide security teams with the intelligence they need to confront and stop advanced threats like supply chain attacks, zero day exploits, and ransomware attacks. Cyber attackers still have the advantage. We’re taking it back with creativity, intellectual curiosity, and a sense of humor. Are you ready to help us reclaim the upper hand?

Do you wish you came to work excited to tackle new problems every day?  When you encounter  product glitches are you curious about the underlying layers of code and infrastructure that caused the issue?  Are you able to apply advanced analytical and technical expertise to resolve highly complex systems-level customer issues?

We are looking for a creative, customer-focused problem solver who has strong communication skills, a software engineering mindset, and enthusiasm for new technology. In this role you will perform root cause analysis and help resolve customer issues, as well as create tooling to improve resolution times, monitoring, and reporting.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work closely with other engineers to identify and resolve complex customer issues in an expedited manner and develop processes to quickly resolve similar cases.

  • Partner with Engineering, QA, and Support teams to complete the development lifecycle by sharing your research about real customer experiences to improve test methodologies, coding decisions, and support responses.

  • Ensure cloud operations and functionality are well monitored and managed.

  • Build tools to analyze system data, fix customer deployments, and patch active code.

  • Manage communications with the Support team, management, and customer advocates throughout the solution workflow.

  • Have the flexibility to change focus as incidents and priority dictate, and have the follow through needed to solve back-burnered issues.

  • Troubleshoot and suggest solutions to improve performance and scale bottlenecks.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, engineering, or information technology.

  • Experience with testing, supporting, deploying, or developing large-scale enterprise and SaaS applications.

  • Strong experience with the Linux toolchain, C, Python, Javascript, SQL, and shell scripting languages.

  • Hands on experience with cloud infrastructure, services, and tooling, such as AWS, GCP, and Azure.

  • Excellent communication skills with internal and external customers.

  • Experience with product-development life cycles and handling customer product concerns.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • 3 years professional software experience in a Unix-based environment.

  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking.

  • Familiar with managing and maintaining container technologies for high availability and scale.

  • Knowledge of building scalable and high-performance software applications and systems.

  • Familiarity with embedded systems or other systems-level development.

  • Solid understanding of the OSI model and excellent working knowledge of the key protocols from Layer 2 through Layer 7 including ARP, IP, TCP, UDP, and HTTP.
