You are a test engineer, a detail-oriented and results-driven software testing professional with experience in helping development teams ship quality software.

We, specifically, are the UI Team, a high-performing cross-functional team of developers, product managers, and designers responsible for the front-end engineering work that aids Apptio in delivering outstanding service to our customers.

What we want you to do:

As a Test Engineer, you will be expected to work within a multi-silo scrum team (development, product management and testing) to evaluate and strengthen our software via combination of functional test automation, manual testing, test plan creation and validation, and ad hoc/exploratory testing. You will be expected to own the test effort from initial requirements gathering to the final release.

Basic Qualifications:

• An understanding of software test methodologies, tools, scripting and processes
• Experience with test automation, including unit testing (such as JUnit) and functional testing (such as Selenium)
• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, learn quickly, and communicate effectively

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in an alpha phase software cycle (Dev or Test)
• Test automation experience including Web, API and SQL
• Distributed systems and architecture knowledge/experience
• Preferred coding experience in:
o Java
o Selenium/Selenide
o SQL or relational database skills
• Version Control Systems
• Linux Command Line
• Experience in agile environments, with small scrum teams consisting of PM, Dev and Test
• Acting as a liaison with stakeholders
• Experience in requirements gathering, and story development and tasking
• Communicating progress, blocking issues and strategy in person and via test plans
• Test case creation and management
