Valant is looking for a Software Test Engineer as either a Regular Full Time or Contract position to work on our Private Practice Suite engineering team. The primary mission of this team is to create a highly configurable, user-friendly platform for behavioral health care practices, agencies, and clinicians to streamline administration and improve clinical outcomes 

As part of the QA team, you will have hands-on involvement in the implementation of Valant's testing strategy and development of its automated testing solution. We have aggressive goals over the next year, and there is a great deal of opportunity for personal and career growth. A successful candidate will have an established background in testing customer-facing software solutions, a can-do attitude, and a desire to continuously improve and take ownership when opportunities arise.

What You’ll Do

  • Work as part of test team and perform requirements and behavior based application testing in an Agile SDLC.
  • Partner with product managers, software engineers and domain experts in designing and executing verification tests
  • Actively participate in all Scrum/Kanban activities, providing input concerns of quality and testability
  • Be effective at reproducing issues; analyzing logs, data, and system results; providing comprehensive information to developers to aid expedient resolution of issues
  • Identify opportunities/gaps relative to test automation, performance test, test environments, and test data management.
  • Escalate quality issues to stakeholders for visibility and resolution
  • Advocate and champion quality principles, processes and practices

What You’ll Need

  • Solid understanding of software testing concepts
  • Extensive experience with testing web applications.
  • Basic coding experience with programming or scripting language, such as C#, JavaScript, Python or similar.
  • Be curious, detail oriented, and analytical, with a proven ability to learn quickly
  • Be user-focused, team-oriented, and motivated, taking ownership of assigned tasks
  • Good verbal and written communication and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in Health Care software/ industry is a plus
  • Experience in BDD is a plus
