We are now looking to add a DevOps Solution Architect to join #TeamGreen based in the US. The role can be out of our Denver office or remote.


A DevOps Solution Architect helps customers create and maintain the cloud infrastructure which underpins their Matillion software, by working directly with Matillion customers both during pre-sales and after purchase.


What you will be doing;

Customer Infrastructure management

  • Assisting customers on standard and bespoke Matillion setup & maintenance, for example Marketplace, Private Image Builds, CloudFormation etc Normally over email / Zoom / WebEx / GoToMeeting or similar, but sometimes also on customer site
  • Advising customers on best practices for their cloud infrastructure with respect to Matillion
  • Hosting such meetings with customer DevOps specialists

Customer Infrastructure support

  • Providing reactive support to customers with cloud infrastructure problems related to their Matillion software, normally over email / Zoom / WebEx / GoToMeeting or similar, but sometimes also on customer site
  • Potentially in relation to other support cases
  • Help customers succeed with specific technical use cases or integrations
  • Maintain a close and collaborative relationship with Matillion's internal engineering department

Assisting product demonstrations

  • Assisting the SA team deliver live product demonstrations - Normally over WebEx / Zoom / GoToMeeting or similar
  • Answering technical questions that arise during the demonstration

Assisting customers during pre-sales

  • Providing ad hoc assistance as necessary - Normally over WebEx / Zoom / GoToMeeting or similar
  • Getting the product set up
  • Providing guidance on specific needs or specific cloud setup

Creating digital content

  • Creating content which encourages customers to self-serve, helps sales and marketing, aids SEO, and helps customers succeed with Matillion

What do you need - Essential Skills

  • Enthusiasm for understanding and learning a wide range of technologies
  • Troubleshooting complex cloud infrastructure problems and Linux OS issues
  • Network security fundamentals
  • Experience working directly with end-users
  • Creating infrastructure through automation (Terraform / CloudFormation preferred)
  • Experience of configuration management such as Salt or Ansible
  • Docker / container management (Kubernetes preferred)
  • Source code management using git
  • Experience configuring Web Application Servers (Tomcat preferred)Working knowledge of the SDLC
  • Experience working with JSON or XML REST APIs

Desirable Skills

  • Cloud certification (AWS/Azure/GCP)
  • Scripting (Python preferred)SQL, ETL or data integration experience
  • Java background
  • A 1st or 2:1 class degree in a technical subject (qualifications may be waived in lieu of experience)

Personal Capabilities Required, e.g. skills, attitude, strengths

  • Passionate and enthusiastic about the latest information technology advancements.
  • A self-confessed technology geek
  • Consultant style, with solid technical/engineering background
  • Ability to thrive in an Agile environment
  • Empathy and/or diplomacy when dealing with novices to the Cloud
