About the Role:

 

As a QA Tools  SDET  you will work very closely with our development team to understand the architecture of our existing product, services  and  testing tools. You will review and contribute to the overall test strategy and quality of the new product and services. In conjunction with dev, you will be designing, implementing and maintaining tooling that will allow for efficient and comprehensive testing.

  • Work closely with developers as peers to understand underlying architecture and code changes required to implement / maintain our back-end automated test frameworks
  • Understand test automation needs, task out work, and provide feedback on design solutions
  • Assist the automation of newly integrated features and develop toolsets to augment QA and Development testing
  • Help develop / implement tools for distributed reporting of automated test results
  • Support / maintain underlying tooling which enables our sales demo environment
  • Communicate test infrastructure status and needs accurately and effectively across teams
  • Work closely with dev teams to coordinate updates / maintenance of testing infrastructure
  • Provide automation assistance to application teams as new services are developed
  • Set up and maintain test environments and test infrastructure on AWS in a Mac OS X/Linux environment

 

About You:

  • Coding experience is required
  • 5+ years of testing and automation experience
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Experience testing applications built with a Service Oriented Architecture.
  • Experience testing both front end and backend (API, database, backend jobs etc.,) is a must
  • Strong technical skills with expertise in an object-oriented programming language (preferably Java)
  • Experience with Ruby is a plus
  • Experience with Selenium Java is a plus
  • Experience with open source automation tools
  • This is a highly collaborative role; must be able and willing to work closely with devs/QE on design & review of each other’s work

Our tech stack includes: Java, MySQL, Ruby on Rails, JSON, UML, HTML/CSS, JavaScript with DOM manipulation and use of AJAX, RESTful services, JavaScript Frameworks (AngularJS, BackboneJS, KnockoutJS, HandlebarsJS, etc.), Linux, cloud computing, distributed systems, and Amazon AWS.
