The world’s leading game engine is looking for brilliant engineers for our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) organization. Your mission will be to manage production incidents by building automation to measure, detect, and prevent production issues. You will also use your experience and communication skills to work with other teams to resolve technical issues manually, and then formulate a solution to ensure it those issues don't happen again.

Since problems can happen at any time and we need to be ready to fix them, the team will work four, 10 hour days per week (4x10), which requires working specific hours and one weekend day. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop services for automatically detecting and eliminating service disruptions
  • Manage large scale, cross team production incidents when automation is insufficient
  • Participate in defining Site Reliability policy, process, technology and best practices
  • Advocate for infrastructure improvements and best practices across Unity Engineering

Requirements

  • Experience managing production (cloud based) infrastructure at scale
  • Deep knowledge of infrastructure core components: storage, system and/or networking
  • Proficiency with modern scripting languages like Golang and Python
  • Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools like Salt and Terraform
  • Healthy obsession with metrics and measurement
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Composed urgency in stressful situations

Bonus points

  • Experience with, or strong interest in, Docker and Kubernetes
  • Understanding of continuous integration / continuous deployment
  • Contribution to open source projects and/or an interesting Github page
  • Real world experience with Big Data technologies like Kafka and Spark
